Verification of Identity

Each lodgement must be accompanied by a receipt confirming that you have undertaken a Verification of Identity at an Australia Post Land Title ID Check express service post office only. The purpose of this is to verify your identity, allowing you authority to buy or sell the nominated land or property.

If you are not represented by an Australian Legal Practitioner or Licensed Conveyancer, you will find detailed information about completing the form and locating Australia Post Land Title ID Check express service post offices within the guide. You will then need to complete the form provided. The form in the link below is the current and only usable form to complete this authority.

Once the form is completed, it should be taken to a participating Australia Post Office where they will;

  • Each form contains fields and a signature section that must be completed to successfully lodge with the Land Registry Services. All transactions lodged with us require a good understanding of the relevant legislation. A guide, which is located with the form, will assist applicants for some of the more common transactions.
  • Most forms are interactive. When you select the form you require, it will automatically generate a section for your signature. For applicants wishing to lodge without representation, you must select the ‘Leave blank’ option in the form when it asks for your representation’s details.
  • When lodging a paper application, all forms must be printed single sided in black ink on A4 white 80 gsm paper.
  • For most transactions, if there is one applicant then only one signature section is required. If there are two applicants both must have signature sections, and so on. If you have a Relinquishing Party and Receiving Party, the form is not complete until there is a signature section for each party.

Please do not leave your application and/or supporting documents with Australia Post. Your application can only be lodged with VLRS.
