SERV is protecting customers and making LANDATA® more secure by introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all customers

SERV maintains and enhances critical systems and applications for both SERV and our government partners at Land Use Victoria. Information security is one of our most important priorities. In closely monitoring the cyber landscape globally, we are observing a higher number of security incidents – many relating to user identity breaches.

We are committed to adopting industry-leading information security practices to help protect you and the data we maintain from similar security incidents. To continue to thrive in this environment, we are focused on continual improvement to make our data and systems more efficient, reliable, sustainable and secure.

Preparing for the change

Please ensure that the email address registered to your account is up to date and correct. This is the same as your LANDATA ® username.

For security and privacy reasons, SERV recommends that this should be your own email address and not shared with anyone else.

How will it work?

Starting from 16 May 2024, after logging into LANDATA® with your username and password, you will be prompted to provide a pin code that will be sent to your registered email address.

If you select ‘Remember Me’, the system will remember you for 24 hours. After this time, you will be required to complete the authentication step.

Tips

  • Be careful to not copy across any blank spaces or punctuation from the verification email to the ‘authentication code’ field, otherwise you will receive an error.
  • If you haven’t received an email containing an authentication code within five minutes, check your Junk email folder; it may have been automatically directed there.
