Modernised LASSI platform delivers faster, smarter land and survey services for Victoria
04 March 2026
SERV and Land Use Victoria (LUV) at the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has successfully delivered the modernised Land and Survey Spatial Information (LASSI) platform, providing a faster, more intuitive and mobile-friendly experience for surveyors, councils and industry users.
Delivered in collaboration with Veris and escient, the transformation brings together four legacy systems into a single, streamlined portal, making it simpler and quicker to access and manage Victoria’s land and survey information.
A single, integrated platform
The new LASSI consolidates mapping services and functionality previously accessed through:
- Land and Survey Spatial Information (LASSI)
- Survey Marks Enquiry Service (SMES)
- VICNAMES
- LASSI-SPEAR
By integrating these systems into one modern, unified environment, the platform improves performance, strengthens usability and enhances access to critical spatial and survey data.
What’s new
The upgraded system introduces:
- A mobile-friendly design
- Smarter, more powerful search functionality
- Upgraded system performance
- One single portal for all services
- Improved user experience
- Enhanced tools and user experience for administrators
- A new self-service Wiki for support
These improvements provide a more efficient and accessible way to manage Victoria’s land and survey information, whether in the office or in the field.
Delivering through strong partnership
SERV’s General Manager, Technology, Steve Planincic, said the success of the program reflects the strength of collaboration between SERV and Land Use Victoria within DTP.
“This has been an exemplar partnership project. From strategy through to delivery, SERV and Land Use Victoria worked as one team with a shared commitment to modernising critical land and survey systems. The trust, transparency and alignment across our organisations — alongside our delivery partners Veris and escient — were central to achieving this outcome.”
Strengthening Victoria’s land information infrastructure
The modernisation of LASSI represents an important step in improving how land and survey information is accessed, maintained and managed across the state.
At SERV, we are committed to modernising the critical land information infrastructure that underpins Victoria’s $3 trillion property market. By partnering with DTP and working closely with Veris and escient, this initiative demonstrates what strong collaboration between government and industry can achieve by delivering secure, reliable and future-ready digital services for government, professionals and the community.
