Two Non-Executive Directors Appointed to VLRS Board

Wednesday 1 September 2021: Two Non-Executive Directors Appointed to VLRS Board

Victorian Land Registry Services (VLRS) today announced the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors to the VLRS Board as part of the company’s ambition to become one of Australia’s most trusted people, registry, technology, and data businesses.

Anna Leibel and Scott Jendra will join the VLRS Board in September, bolstering the Board’s expertise and capabilities in technology, data security and systems integrity.

Anna Leibel is an accomplished senior operations and technology executive, with almost 30 years’ experience in business transformation, emerging technologies, and go-to market strategies.

Most recently, Ms Leibel was the Chief Delivery and Information Officer for UniSuper, a transformative role spanning IT, Project Delivery and Operations (member administration), to drive operational efficiencies, foster customer-focused approach, deliver strategic projects and protect the funds and customers’ data.

Ms Leibel spent two years with PwC, assisting clients with a range of digital, data, cyber and transformation engagements across multiple industries. She was a key contributor to the growth and establishment of the Telstra SaaS (software as a service) business, responsible for developing customer communities and creating digital solutions to grow market share.

Scott Jendra has 20 years’ experience advising on digital, technology and strategy at AFL, SEEK, The Boston Consulting Group and Accenture. He has consulted to many of the largest Australian companies and public sector agencies.

Mr Jendra currently operates his own business, pptproductivity.com, a subscription-based product for consulting organisations to create, refine and collaborate on presentations in PowerPoint. Previously, he spent three years with the AFL, with responsibility for technology, analytics, digital transformation, afl.com.au and the 18 club websites with 4 million unique visitors per month. Before AFL, he was SEEK’s Head of International Technology and CIO of SEEK Asia, building products for SEEK’s businesses in Brazil, Mexico, China, South East Asia and Australia.

Mr Jendra’s foundational career in technology strategy and outsourcing with both Accenture and Boston Consulting Group was focused on delivering major change programs across large government agencies.

Ms Leibel and Mr Jendra will join the existing four VLRS Board members including Chair Cheryl Batagol, Non-Executive Director Sam Andersen, Non-Executive Director Clark Butler, and Non-Executive Director Maria Donnelly, taking the total Board members to six.

Quote from VLRS Board Chair Cheryl Batagol:

“On behalf of Board colleagues, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Leibel and Mr Jendra to the VLRS Board during a critical time in the company’s journey. Anna and Scott bring a combined 50 years’ experience to the VLRS Board and will bolster our capability to support and guide the business in the areas of cybersecurity and technology. There has never been a more important time to reinforce the Board’s expertise in these areas given the increasing migration to a digital world.”

Quote from VLRS Chief Executive Andrew Faber:

“On behalf of the Executive Leadership Team, I welcome Ms Leibel and Mr Jendra to the VLRS Board. Anna and Scott are two incredibly skilled professionals with deep and valuable experience in cybersecurity and technology that will help VLRS deliver on its commitment to protect and enhance the security and integrity of critical State registry data.”
